“One man... many lives.”

Sanjay Dutt (Ranbir Kapoor) wants to be a movie star in his own right, not just the son of a famous actor, and he gets there young. Rajkumar Hirani follows him through the drug addiction and the Arms Act case that tie him to the 1993 Bombay blasts, with Sunil Dutt (Paresh Rawal) trying to hold his son together. What runs under all of it is a father and son who love each other and struggle to say so.
