Sanjuro
“You cut well, but the best sword stays in its sheath!”
A group of nine young samurai have found corruption inside their clan, and they have no idea who in it can be trusted. Their help arrives in a scruffy, sleepy ronin who calls himself Sanjûrô Tsubaki (Toshirō Mifune), and he starts teaching them how a real samurai thinks. Akira Kurosawa sets a rough, practical older man against their polite certainty, and the film is plainly about how little the book of proper conduct can protect anyone.
