Santa Claus Is a Stinker

“"There was a very rude gentleman who wanted to fuck Therese!"”

It's Christmas Eve in Paris, and Pierre (Thierry Lhermitte) and Thérèse (Anémone) are working the night shift at a suicide hotline, a cramped office where the phone is the only company. The visitors start arriving: a pregnant woman, her abusive boyfriend, and a man in women's clothes. They drag the evening out of the office and into a stranger one. Jean-Marie Poiré adapts the troupe Le Splendid's 1979 stage play and keeps its deadpan, one-night squabbling intact.
