“Anguish and emotion in the big city”

Carlos (Walmor Chagas) wants out of a life that has already given him what he asked for: a steady salary, a family, and a manager's job at a car-parts factory in São Paulo. The foreign automakers are arriving in Brazil, and his work keeps him tied to them. Luiz Sérgio Person films the city in plain black and white and keeps the camera close to Carlos while he looks for a way to leave.
