Saraband
Marianne (Liv Ullmann), a lawyer now in her sixties, decides on an impulse to visit Johan (Erland Josephson), the ex-husband she has not seen in thirty years. She finds him alone in a country house, with his son Henrik (Börje Ahlstedt) and Henrik's gifted young cellist daughter Karin (Julia Dufvenius) living nearby in a standoff of long resentment. Ingmar Bergman, in his final film, lets Marianne and Johan pick up again as two people who have never quite finished.
