Sarpatta Parambarai

Kabilan (Arya) is a young labourer in 1970s North Chennai who wants to put on the gloves and fight for the Sarpatta clan, though his mother wants him far from the ring. His clan faces a do-or-die match against the rival Idiyappa clan, and its coach Rangan Vaathiyar (Pasupathy) has little time left. Pa. Ranjith treats boxing here as a matter of family loyalty and local politics, and every punch is thrown for a neighbourhood that has put its name on the line.
