Satantango
The villagers of a failing Hungarian settlement are waiting for money. The factory that fed them has closed, a cash payment is promised, and they sit through the days until it comes. Then Irimiás (Mihály Víg), a man everyone thought dead, walks back into the village, and Béla Tarr gives them seven hours to listen to him. The film is about people so hungry for someone to tell them what to do that they will believe the first voice that offers.
