Saturday Night and Sunday Morning

“Saturday night you have your fling at life...and Sunday morning you face up to it!”

Arthur Seaton (Albert Finney) spends his weekdays on a lathe at a factory and his weekends drinking hard, picking fights, and sleeping with Brenda (Rachel Roberts), the married wife of a man he works with. Karel Reisz follows him through the pubs and rented rooms while Doreen (Shirley Anne Field), a younger woman, starts to take up more of his time. Finney sits at the end of a bar, a pint going flat in his hand, the noise of the room closing over him.
