In a future where Earth is too crowded to feed itself, Major Adam (Kirk Douglas) and Alex (Farrah Fawcett) run a hydroponics station on a moon of Saturn. They have been there three years with only their dog Sally, and Alex has never been to Earth. Then Captain Benson (Harvey Keitel) docks with a robot named Hector, and the two of them have to work out how to live beside a man who is not right.
