“Cleanse Your Sins.”
In 1595, two Finnish brothers walk into the swampy interior to mark the new border between Sweden and Russia, the wars just ended in an uneasy peace. Eerik (Ville Virtanen) is a hardened war hero, and Knut (Tommi Eronen) is a gentle scholar in an age with no use for him. Annila's film is about men who cannot forgive what they did in the war, and what they carry out of it with them.
