Saving Mr. Banks

Los Angeles, 1961: P.L. Travers (Emma Thompson), the author of Mary Poppins, arrives to meet Walt Disney (Tom Hanks), who has pursued the film rights for twenty years. She is wary and certain Hollywood will ruin what she built, but as they work toward a script, her memories of her father (Colin Farrell) surface, revealing how a man she loved and failed to save shaped the book she guards so fiercely.
