Scandal

A photograph of the painter Ichirô Aoye (Toshirō Mifune) and the singer Miyako Saijo (Yoshiko Yamaguchi) lands in a tabloid magazine, and the caption turns a chance meeting into a romance. Akira Kurosawa follows the two as they take the editors to court, hiring the lawyer Hiruta to clear their names. Aoye stands in his studio, a painter who cannot work, the printed page still in his hand.
