Scanners

“10 Seconds: The Pain Begins. 15 Seconds: You Can’t Breathe. 20 Seconds: You Explode.”

Cameron Vale (Stephen Lack) is pulled off the street by a scientist, Dr. Paul Ruth (Patrick McGoohan), who trains him to control the telepathic voices in his head. The task is to stop Darryl Revok (Michael Ironside), a renegade Scanner with extraordinary psychic power, from waging war on everyone who can't do what he does. David Cronenberg builds it around a plain fear: that the mind is open to anyone strong enough to walk in.
