Scaramouche

(1952)Directed by George Sidney110 minAdventure, Romance
“The Company that made "Quo Vadis" brings the world another spectacular romantic triumph!”

Andre Moreau (Stewart Granger) is in hiding in 18th-century France after his friend is murdered, and he joins a troupe of traveling actors, taking a mask and a new name to stay out of sight. George Sidney films the stage and the swordplay in bright Technicolor, with Eleanor Parker and Janet Leigh drawn into Andre's disguise. Andre is hunting the Marquis de Maynes (Mel Ferrer), and each performance moves him closer.
