“Great trilogies come in threes.”

Crop circles are showing up in the fields, and a cursed videotape is killing everyone who watches it. Cindy (Anna Faris), a news anchorwoman, gets sent to investigate both, and she ends up in the White House, where the President needs help stopping an alien invasion. David Zucker keeps the jokes coming deadpan, and Cindy, with Brenda (Regina Hall) beside her, takes every ridiculous threat as an ordinary workday.
