Scary Stories to Tell in the Dark

“They're not just stories anymore.”

On Halloween night in 1968, Stella Nicholls (Zoe Colletti) and her friends play a prank on the school bully in Mill Valley, Pennsylvania, then dare each other into the old Bellows house, the one everyone says is haunted. They leave with a book of handwritten stories, and André Øvredal lets the pages start filling in names. Stella keeps reading anyway, unwilling to let her friends' fear, or her own, make the choice for her.
