Scenes from a Marriage

Nothing looks wrong with Johan (Erland Josephson) and Marianne (Liv Ullmann), a married couple who seem to have everything. Then Johan tells her he is having an affair, and the marriage they had presented to everyone starts coming apart. Ingmar Bergman stays in tight rooms with the two of them as they separate, try again, and take up with other people, and Ullmann's face fills the frame, bare and unguarded.
