On Christmas Eve, Ebenezer Scrooge (Seymour Hicks) turns away his cheerful nephew Fred (Robert Cochran) and sends his poor clerk Bob Cratchit (Donald Calthrop) back to the ledgers. That night the spirits of the past, present and future come for him, one after another. Henry Edwards made this the first feature-length sound version of the Dickens story, with Hicks bringing a role he had been playing on stage since 1901.
