Scrooge

(1970)Directed by Ronald Neame114 min · GFantasy, Drama, Family
“What the Dickens have they done to Scrooge?”

It is Christmas in Victorian London, and Ebenezer Scrooge (Albert Finney) counts his money while the rest of the street sings. Ronald Neame turns Dickens' ghost story into a musical, with songs by Leslie Bricusse and spirits that include Jacob Marley's Ghost (Alec Guinness) and the Ghost of Christmas Past (Edith Evans). Marley arrives with a warning, and three more visitors follow before the night ends.
