“Her talent was real. Her résumé was not.”

Maya Vargas (Jennifer Lopez) turns 43 as an assistant manager at a Value Shop, wanting one thing: the promotion she has earned on results alone. It goes to a candidate with a college degree, so she sets out to show Madison Avenue that street smarts count too. Peter Segal puts her opposite Zoe (Vanessa Hudgens) and Anderson Clarke (Treat Williams), with Joan (Leah Remini) on her side from the start.
