Secret Ceremony

“It's time to speak of unspoken things...”

Leonora (Elizabeth Taylor) is a penniless prostitute in mourning when a young woman on a London bus, Cenci (Mia Farrow), decides she is the mother she lost. Leonora goes home with her, to a large house where the girl's family history is not easily explained. Joseph Losey fills the rooms with heavy furniture and long silences, and the dread comes from how little anyone says.
