Secret Defense

Sylvie (Sandrine Bonnaire) works as a biologist in a French laboratory, and one evening she finds her brother Paul trying to steal a gun from it. He tells her he means to avenge their father, whose death he blames on the man's business partner. Jacques Rivette follows Sylvie as she is pulled between this suspicion and her bond with Paul, and what she owes him weighs on her more with each conversation.
