The order from Pyongyang arrives after years of waiting: the three agents must kill one another or be hunted down by an elite hit team. Jang Cheol-soo builds the film on their covers, a village idiot named Bang Dong-gu (Kim Soo-hyun), a rock musician and a high school student, each long since settled into small-town South Korean life. Somewhere in those years the lie became a home, and the film is about what it costs to be ordered to give up the only life you have.
