See No Evil, Hear No Evil

“MURDER! The blind guy couldn't see it. The deaf guy couldn't hear it. Now they're both wanted for it.”

A man is shot dead in the news stand where Dave Lyons (Gene Wilder) works, and he never hears the gunshot because he is deaf. Wally Karue (Richard Pryor), the blind man who sells there, hears it from outside but cannot see who fired. Arthur Hiller puts the two of them on the run from police and killers alike, each one lending the other the sense he lacks.
