“The Smart One Isn't Wearing Any Pants.”

A big stray dog turns up in the back of a mail truck, and nobody knows he is Agent 11, an FBI drug-sniffing dog who just got away from two men sent to kill him. Gordon (David Arquette), a mailman who can't be trusted with much, is babysitting his neighbor's six-year-old, James (Angus T. Jones), when the dog climbs in. John Whitesell builds the film around the boy and the mailman, who name the dog Spot and slowly become a kind of family.
