Detective Matt Bishop (Michael Paré) spent years hunting Max Seed (Will Sanderson), a serial killer who filmed his crimes, and he is there when the state tries to execute him. The chair fails to kill Seed, so the warden (Ralf Moeller) has him buried alive in the prison grounds, and Seed digs his way out. Uwe Boll sets the film on one question the story never softens: what a society owes the man it cannot kill.
