Seeking a Friend for the End of the World

“Nice knowing you.”

An asteroid is weeks from hitting Earth, and Dodge Petersen (Steve Carell) is left alone when his wife bolts from the car and doesn't come back. He sets out on a road trip to find his high school sweetheart, with his neighbor Penny (Keira Knightley) along and complicating things. Lorene Scafaria lets two near-strangers cover the miles, and Dodge, mild and unhurried, is still working out whom he wants beside him at the end.
