Semmelweis

“He saw the invisible, he did the impossible”

Ignác Semmelweis (Miklós H. Vecsei) is a short-tempered, driven doctor in 19th century Vienna who delivers babies in the morning and carries out autopsies the same day. Lajos Koltai follows him through a hospital where puerperal fever keeps killing patients, and no one can say what causes it. Semmelweis wants an answer before the next ward fills, and every woman who dies there counts against him.
