(1987)Directed by Woody Allen83 min · PGDrama
“A compelling, emotional drama from one of the finest directors of our time... Woody Allen.”

Lane (Mia Farrow) has retreated to her country house to recover from a suicide attempt, and the reason she did it is never plainly stated. Her best friend Stephanie (Dianne Wiest) comes to stay, then her mother Diane (Elaine Stritch) arrives with Lloyd (Jack Warden), and a neighbor named Peter (Sam Waterston) keeps turning up. Woody Allen, working from Chekhov's Uncle Vanya, keeps the whole thing inside one house, one season, a few rooms.
