Captain Mal Reynolds (Nathan Fillion) needs to protect River Tam (Summer Glau), a fugitive with dangerous secrets locked inside her head. Flying his beat-up ship through hostile space, he is hunted by a relentless government agent who will burn worlds to retrieve her.
