Sara Moore (Elizabeth Hurley), a British socialite in New York, opens the door to a stranger with divorce papers for her Texan husband's money. The stranger is Joe Tyler (Matthew Perry), a process server, and her counteroffer to him is to deliver the papers to Gordon (Bruce Campbell) instead. Reginald Hudlin sends the pair across the country in loud, bright comedy set-pieces, with Sara's fortune riding on every mile.
