In 1850 Oregon, the backwoodsman Adam Pontipee (Howard Keel) brings a wife home to his farm, and his six brothers decide they want wives too. Stanley Donen directs, with Michael Kidd's choreography turning chopping wood and raising a barn into dance. Milly (Jane Powell) arrives expecting one husband and finds seven men in need of a woman's hand, and the house is never the same.
