Seven Samurai

“Unmatched for suspense and spectacle!”

Kambei Shimada (Takashi Shimura) is a masterless samurai, past his best years, when a village of poor farmers begs him to defend their harvest from the bandits who will come back for it. He has little to offer but rice, so he gathers six other fighters, among them the restless Kikuchiyo (Toshirō Mifune). Kurosawa fills the story with the work of it, the farmers on the ground with sharpened bamboo and the seven samurai standing among them.
