Seven Years in Tibet

Heinrich Harrer (Brad Pitt) is an arrogant Austrian mountaineer who leaves his family behind in 1939 to lead an expedition in the Himalayas. The war makes him a prisoner, and he escapes with Peter Aufschnaiter (David Thewlis), crossing on foot into Lhasa. Jean-Jacques Annaud follows the friendship that grows between Harrer and the 14-year-old Dalai Lama, a boy who asks a proud man to change how he sees his own life.
