Sgt. Bilko

(1996)Directed by Jonathan Lynn90 min · PGComedy
“All he ever wanted was an honest week's pay for an honest day's work.”

Fort Baxter is a US Army motor pool where the soldiers are the sorriest in the service, and the man who runs them is Sergeant Ernest Bilko (Steve Martin). Jonathan Lynn builds the film around Bilko and his ragtag platoon, including Wally Holbrook (Daryl Mitchell), and around Colonel Hall (Dan Aykroyd), the commanding officer who has to deal with him. Between Bilko and Rita Robbins (Glenne Headly) sits a long, unfinished history that neither of them can leave alone.
