Shaft's Big Score!

“Last time he was nice. This time he's ice!”

A client is dead, and private detective John Shaft (Richard Roundtree) takes it on himself to find whoever killed him. The search puts him in the path of Bumpy Jonas (Moses Gunn) and a crowd of hustlers, cops and wiseguys, among them Gus Mascola (Joseph Mascolo). Gordon Parks, who also wrote the score, keeps Shaft moving through the grain of the film, a figure in a dark leather coat on the street.
