Shake Hands with the Devil

In 1993, Lieutenant General Roméo Dallaire (Roy Dupuis) arrives in Rwanda to command a United Nations mission meant to hold a fragile ceasefire. His force is underfunded and tangled in bureaucracy, made up of units from dozens of countries with little in common. Roger Spottiswoode adapts Dallaire's own book, and the film shows a man pleading with superiors who do not answer, while the people he was sent to protect are left to the killers.
