Shame

Brandon (Michael Fassbender) moves through Manhattan in a blur of compulsion, his days structured around the next encounter, the next screen, the next stranger. His sister Sissy (Carey Mulligan) arrives at his apartment unannounced, needing a place to stay, and the careful walls of his isolation begin to crack. Steve McQueen watches them circle each other across a small space, two people bound by blood and damage, neither able to reach the other.
