Chon Wang (Jackie Chan) is a Chinese imperial guard sent to the American West to rescue a kidnapped princess. In Nevada, he teams up with Roy O'Bannon (Owen Wilson), a charming outlaw with no survival skills, and the two chase down the kidnappers across deserts and through saloons. By the time they find Princess Pei Pei (Lucy Liu), Wang and O'Bannon have become genuine friends, bound by loyalty neither of them saw coming.
