Shanks
“A new concept in the macabre in which the Good come out of the grave and the Evil are sent to fill the vacancy.”
Malcolm Shanks (Marcel Marceau) is deaf and mute, and the only thing he wants is to be left alone with his puppets. He lives with a sister and her husband who take their pleasure in making him miserable. His skill earns him a job as lab assistant to Dr. Walker, who moves the dead like marionettes with wires at the nerves. William Castle, in his last film as director, gives Marceau no spoken lines, so the quiet in that house hangs on every cruelty done to him.
