“Inside, an evil grows.”

Louise (Ellen Dorrit Petersen) and her husband Kasper (Peter Christoffersen) live off the grid, and their one wish is a child she cannot carry. Elena (Cosmina Stratan), the young Romanian woman who keeps their house, agrees to bear it for them, and the arrangement is settled quietly between the women. Ali Abbasi stays close on Louise as the due date nears, and she keeps her fear to herself.
