“The Mystery Master in America!”

Sherlock Holmes (Basil Rathbone) is a detective used to London fog, and in 1943 the British government sends him across the Atlantic with Doctor Watson (Nigel Bruce) to chase a missing man. A secret agent bound for Washington has been kidnapped with a document of vital importance, and Roy William Neill keeps the hunt moving from one suspect to the next. In wartime, a single envelope in the wrong hands can matter more than any battle.
