“No one makes it alone”

Sherry Swanson (Maggie Gyllenhaal) steps out of prison and into a halfway house, a former addict with a parole officer to answer to and a young daughter being raised by her brother's family. Laurie Collyer follows her through the first weeks home, as her sister-in-law, Lynette (Bridget Barkan), watches for any slip. Sherry wants to stay clean and be the mother her daughter needs, and every day that wanting gets harder to hold.
