“Fated to love : destined to kill.”

Two ninja villages, Iga and Kouga, have kept an uneasy peace for years, and every year their leaders are summoned to the Lord's annual conference. This time the Lord orders a fight to the death between the five best shinobi from each village, and Kouga Gen-no-suke (Joe Odagiri) and Oboro (Yukie Nakama) are named the leaders. Ten Shimoyama builds the film around the two of them, who are secretly in love and now bound to lead the killing against each other's people.
