Shipwrecked

The crew of the ship that takes on young Haakon Haakonsen (Stian Smestad) as cabin boy is hiding its real business, and he is the only one who seems to notice. Nils Gaup sends the Norwegian boy out of 1850s England under the eye of Lt. John Merrick (Gabriel Byrne), whose men do not behave like ordinary sailors. Haakon stands at the rail in his cabin boy's clothes, a long way from home, watching the crew and trying to work out who they really are.
