“Fearless. Fierce. First.”

It is 1972, and Shirley Chisholm (Regina King) has already made history as the first Black woman elected to Congress. Now she is running for the Democratic presidential nomination, with Mac Holder (Lance Reddick) and a small team beside her, and John Ridley follows the campaign from the inside. She has little money and almost no party backing, and the men around her keep asking her to step aside.
