“Once there was a band called the Smiths...”

Someone has taken over a Denver radio station in 1987 and is holding the airwaves at gunpoint, playing nothing but The Smiths. Across town, four friends (Ryan, Cleo, Sheila and Billy) are still stunned that the band has broken up, and Stephen Kijak follows them through one long night as the broadcast pulls them together. Ellar Coltrane plays Ryan, a kid who has built so much of himself on those records that he has no idea who he is without them.
