“When things are not what they seem...”

An American journalist is found in a Prague park, apparently dead, though he can still think and remember. Gregory Moore (Jean Sorel) recalls the days before, when his girlfriend Jessica (Ingrid Thulin) vanished without a word and he began looking for her. Aldo Lado, in his first feature, sets the search against a city whose polite surface hides the people who took her.
