Short Peace

“A four-film omnibus that features four short anime films all themed around Japan.”

A lone traveler takes shelter in an abandoned shrine, hoping only to get through the night, and finds the spirits living there have other plans. That is one of four animated shorts here, directed by Hiroaki Ando and Shuhei Morita, and the others follow a firefighter in ancient Japan, a white bear fighting a red demon, and ragtag soldiers facing robots. Each one tells its story in a different style, and each treats honor and duty as things people carry into danger.
