“Some criminals are made in prison”

Jacob "Money" Harlon (Nikolaj Coster-Waldau) walks out of prison and into a job his gang leaders have handed him: run a major crime against a brutal rival gang on the streets of Southern California. Before that, he was a well-to-do family man, sent away after a deadly DUI crash, who had to harden himself to survive inside. Ric Roman Waugh, who wrote and directed, cuts between the two Jacobs and lets the prison years show what they took.
